What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi all

just trying to fill out a Statement of information for a Consent Order and am a bit confused.

What does capital resources mean - i know it means property value but does it also mean what saving you have or what cars you both have? how will the judge know if either party is telling the truth about savings?

for pension arrangement what figure do they want to see?
is it the figure of how much you will currently get when you retire or how much you currently pay into your pension.

All help greatly appreciated

thanks

kevin
