Can anyone tell me what "ask the court for directions" means?
Why would someone do this?
Can I do it or will it have to be a solicitor?
Who deals with the request at court and what are "directions"?
Once you've got directions do you have to follow them?
This is a hearing at court when a Judge gives directions as to how the matter will proceed. For example, directions that the property should be valued by an expert jointly instructed by the parties or for further disclosure to be provided before the ancillary relief matter can proceed. You don't need a sol and application forms are downloadable from HM Courts.
