What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi All, sorry to be a pest, the "nasty step-daughter, has EPA, which I now know has not been registered, making it invalid,She actually issued the ancillery,on me, as a invalid EPA, would this then make that also invalid.as she has no power??.Dont really want to phone my sol, as I do not trust her one bit I feel there has been some under-handed,"chat" going on between them and the o/side

I am disturbed that you mention the under handed chat bit. I find that hard to believe that they would double cross you. Of course they chat to each other and the conversations I have heard are strange. You pay your sol to advise you. You are in the driving seat and they work for you. I would have a word with them and tell them about the EPA.

Remember that its a bit of a game between them. They know when to mention things and when not to. Its all part of the game. If you have information that affects your case you MUST tell your sol. They cannot act for you properly otherwise.

Often your sol is the only unbiased person in your corner. They often say things you dont like. Unbiased advice is like that. Often its a bitter pill to swallow. Sorry for banging on. Chris.

Hi Chris and thanks, maybe things that have been said by sol, as in everything I say is errelevent, but the other side have mentioned them, exact the same as I am told are errelevent, also sol is holding a letter back from o/s which i have asked for a copy, just makes me feel, that I do not trust them, also I have found out about the EPA not being registered, yet they are being paid to do this, and have not. seems they are being paid to do WHAT exactly? and as for a game? at my exspense, finacually, also my life, and future?

Do you realise that when an EPA is registered you could make representations as to why the appointed person eg the daughter should NOT be the attorney. An application for directions could be made to the Court of Protection.

Initially ...why has the EPOA not been registered- than you will seek say anor person protect the patient's assets eg The Official Solicitor

The EPA has not been registered, because pehaps the nasty step/d did not know about this, and also as stated, the copy shown to me . was a photo-copy , and thedoner the ex, signature signed in blue pen,I have also been in touch with the court of protection, but just CAN NOT a positive answer from anyone ,and as i have also said, I have found all this out. why not my sol?, the EPA not being valid, please read all my postings ,
