What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Are you on the pop tonight or just in a good mood.

However it's very entertaining and is making me smile.

Just hope you are okay.

Hi looby

I am not as knowledgeable as some might think, pre DP now about 3 months I knew nothing at all about the minefield.

All I have done is read and read and read and mostly the government laid down statutes and the appropriate law

A very interesting point you make about ante depressants, my psychiatrist has actually suggested I try coming off them for a month to see how I go

His reasoning is that of the placebo effect and I can understand that, my mentality has gone from completely down pre DP to I think low but stable

However I 'think' I have suffered Bi-Polar of some sort and that the Manic phases have been what I call the 'Devil' once reached remains for mostly some years and then 'Bang' something happens to send me into an extremely low state and this can remain again for some many months or even years

The physiatrist wants to see 2 episodes of the manic behavior to 'Label' me, I don't want to see any more - No Way Jose'

So just like the divorce it appears to be a Lose/Lose situation...

Might try his suggestion, but if I come off them and go too low, will take another month or so for the body to get back used to them lose/lose again

Will only try that after Nisi....

So maybe I should push the W into applying for it...

Kind regards

P.S. Looby you slipped up on the race to the finish on the 'Relationship' First Posting - Well Done - LOL
