What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I believe it is two years 'with mutual consent'.... but if one of the parties won't agree to divorce after this time I think it is five years one has to wait..... unless ofcourse you go down the unreasonable behaviour or adultery route...

Kind Regards

A Bill was passed recently reducing the time of separation required for divorce from 5 to 2 years without consent and 2 to 1 years with consent
