What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

So husband and I are being nice to each and actually talking which after the last 2 months is a miracle (we didn't argue too badly when things were ok I hasten to add) anyway should I be worried?? he is coming tomorrow to see dd, has called a few times today and actually called me back to speak to me! forgot what it was about, we go to relate in just over a week, trying not to pin any hopes on it but I really want him to go with an open mind.

when my x was nice to me during the divorce I knew I had something to worry about because that's when he would be at his most devious.mind you not everyone is the same, caution might be wise.someone on here advised me months ago, keep an open mind, expect the unexpected and be one step of your s2bx by anticipating what his/her next move is.It was the best piece of advice I had.hopefully you're lucky and he is being nice because he wants to be.good luck with relate.
