i sold my shares on the advice of my solicitor and the share company put my money 39k in my ex 2b bank account and so far i have been unable to get it back, our finances are not sorted or aggreed as yet, does anyone know if i will get my shares back eventually or not??
Was the legal and share company advice based on just market conditions/share prices or were they aware of the divorce? If solicitor was aware of the divorce surely he would not have suggested putting the money in Ex's bank account.
I was going to ask the same question. I can understand why your solicitor might have advised you to sell your shares, but not why the money was going to go into your husband's bank account. Did you agree to this ? How could it be paid to you r husband without your consent ?
my ex used to control all the finances including his and my shares and used his own bank account to buy and sell which i thought was ok when we were a couple.. i told the share company i was divorcing and needed to prevent my ex from taking my money (he sold 50k of his own shares and spent it paying his credit card bills). i gave them my bank details but they deposited the money into his as they had done so before and would not take any responsibility for this as they said i had failed to change bank details( they still have a statement of mine from august with my bank acc no)
