What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I went to pick up my younger lad from school yesterday, and one of the parents mentioned that he was going on holiday on Saturday!!!!! Apparently three parents knew..... but I didn't!! And I had spoken with my ex for 20 mins the night before.
Turns out he is going on a cruise to the Med sometime on Saturday with his brother (my other son), mum and "new" boyfriend (of 8 weeks)!!!
I normally have the boys Friday night and Saturday day!!!! My ex hasn't yet given me the details!!! How crap is that!!!!
Our Decree Absolute is pending - and until now everything had been "reasonably" amicable. (Other than her changing the tune about more money!). She's bleeding me dry as it is!!!

I have no details of the cruise, sleeping arrangements, (boys are 12 and 9), and anything about this new guy!! (She has only known him for 8 weeks)

My solicitor has rerquested details - so the Sh*t should hit the fan soon!!
What do other people think??

Although it's unconsiderate of her not to negotiate a change in arrangements people do move on from divorce, make new relationships, go on holiday etc and you just need to trust the other parent will have an eye on the children's welfare. Perhaps she didn't tell you because she was worried about how you would react.

I would grit your teeth and wish them a good holiday and ask politely if in future arrangements can be made to suit everyone well in advance.
