What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Gave hubs the papers on Sunday after all sorts of hell, he said could he stay till the house we rent out is sold, sale is going thru, and he said tenants arent moving out for 3 weeks, so could he stay till then. SO being nice and a fool, I said ok although I didnt want to.

ANyway tonight the tenant phoned and he answered, when he came off the phone I ask when was the tenant moving out and hubs said 4 weeks. Well I know him better than he knows himself knew he was lying, so i texed tenant sayig i needed to know the date for the records he texed saying that the lease runs out tomorrow and that he moved out last saturday.

The lousely lying beep. He has showed our 8 year old son the paprs and told him what they are, his mother has called me all sorts on the phone to my son, and the atmosphere in the house is a nightmare, I am terrified of his next outburst and the kids are being effected, and he doesnt care, he just lies again and again.

I am so mad, but will stay calm and keep my mouth shut as tomoro is sons birthday, but all I want to do is put all his clothes in bin bags and take them to the house and tell him to get lost.

And on top of that I have bronchitus and feel like poo :(:(:(:(

It’s very sad to hear that your H feels the need to show your son the papers! And also sad that your sons grandmother(?) also feels the need to tell your son what she thinks of you!

I doesn’t seem fair at all that one so young has to be subjected to this! My situation isn’t a very pleasant one but I would not wish to try and influence my children in such a way.

I will let my children make their own minds up about things and not try and divided their loyalties. Though I know my wife does such things.
