What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

hi all,

have just been on face book and discovered my x has a profile listed there. looking through i have found he has posted his full name and dob, he has posted the place that we live in and the place he works, but worst of all and this has made me really mad and i cant understand his thinking, he has posted photos of our son. together with the other info that he has posted i find this totally irresponsible. facebook can be seen and images printed and forwarded to just about anyone. if he wanted his details posted on this kind of site then that is his business but why post photos of our son together with the town in which we live also connected to it.

any comments about how you would feel and what i should or can do about this, i am so upset and maddened and sickened that my beautiful son is there for god knows who to look at, and it is his father that has put his face on this kind of site.

any comments welcomed.

positivesurvivor,

Whilst these social networking sites have a very positive impact for legitimate users, they are also a source of concern with some of the more unpleasant people out there.

The father of the modern internet, Sir Tim Berners Lee was quoted only this week as saying that people should be vary careful about what they post on the internet.

Potential employers will check facebook and similar sites to understand who they are taking on. Anything that is posted today, may well still be there for our grandchildren to read. There are also an alarming number of 'bots' and 'spiders' (software programs) that harvest user information from sites like facebook.

Personally, I think he is a complete plonker. Identity theft is a huge issue in modern society. Perhaps he needs to have the dangers spelled out to him.

Balance in all things!

Mike
