What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

hi all,

have just been on face book and discovered my x has a profile listed there. looking through i have found he has posted his full name and dob, he has posted the place that we live in and the place he works, but worst of all and this has made me really mad and i cant understand his thinking, he has posted photos of our son. together with the other info that he has posted i find this totally irresponsible. facebook can be seen and images printed and forwarded to just about anyone. if he wanted his details posted on this kind of site then that is his business but why post photos of our son together with the town in which we live also connected to it.

any comments about how you would feel and what i should or can do about this, i am so upset and maddened and sickened that my beautiful son is there for god knows who to look at, and it is his father that has put his face on this kind of site.

any comments welcomed.

I think this is one of these parenting issues where there is no right or wrong, just people doing different things.

When you think about it anyone who is determined enough can take photos of children with a zoom lens, manipulate them and post them anywhere. Personally I'm not going to allow people like that rule our lives and I make good use of Facebook, have photos of our children there as do members of my extended family.

I'm not sure what you mean by this 'kind of site.' We play the Facebook version of Scrabble, exchange information about music events such as blues and jazz festivals, participate in book and language groups etc. Many of the people I communicate with are students who I've known since they were wee. Hardly subversive activities - it's depends what you make of it. In fact I've had more problems with propositions on Wikivorce than Facebook.
