What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I found out yesterday that my x2b has been having an affair...
Now... he told me that he hadn't received the papers from the court...which were filed approx 4 weeks ago... when we discussed his 'last known address' he said that he was still at that address (the address given to my sol)... it may be possible that he isn't telling me the truth (there's a surprise)...
If he IS infact living with this person what would happen regarding our 'future living arrangements' ?
Would it effect any decision the court may make regarding the splitting of assets due to housing needs?
Would I need to prove that he is living with this person?
Thanks for any information
Karen

Hi Karen. This does make a difference. She is contributing to his housing needs. Proving it is another matter. However. What I did was use tracesmart. You can search for people if you know the name and town where they live. Its electoral register based. It helps to prove if he is cohabiting. Chris

Thanks Chris.....
The 'problem' I have.... is that his new g/f appears to own/run a B&B..... now, it could be argued (by him) that he is not actually living with her.... but staying there as a paying guest?????
