What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Just wanted to say to all of you wikis .. Some times we all need to step back from all our troubles.. And take time out for us... Me..you those that show us love... Etc.

Please allow yourselves this moment. Put on ur fav music, relax wotever suits you but thinkabout just you....... you are wonderful, thoughtful, kind, generous, brilliant......

All the. Sh*t is hard. Your allowed to feel tired, emotional....... drained of energy...... Petrified, Happy , sad uplifted...

Every day brings different emotions and feelings but please, please keep going and you''ll come out the other side a more well rounded better person.

Don''t forget there''s a new you on the horizon, and you will be better stronger and allow this to happen wotever time it takes.

PS enjoy ur time out... love all the support you all take time to give. and I hope to blog..my story sometime when energy allows xxxxx

Hi Red
You are so right, at times we all need to just step out of the nightmare and do something where it can''t get to you. That could be anything, cycle ride, going to th gym, having a pint, listening to a long forgotten record (sorry kids its like a CD only bigger, and better), but it doesnt have to be that active, sometimes walking in some woods listening to birds and looking at clouds, its all good....

Take care

Agree completely.

Often the time out is apparent when you least realise it. You do something and it''s only after it''s done that you realise you haven''t thought about your problems until after it''s done.

Oh I agree. Yesterday for me it was pottering in the garden. Strangely I have never been a keen gardener but yesterday I found solace there. I''m working on theory I can''t afford to go anywhere this summer so I might as well make garden look nice. Hope for good weather. I spent a lot of time thinking about ex as I did it -which in a way seemed a waste of a pleasant afternoon, but it seemed to be the brain processing....and it was ok. This morning was a tearful morning.....took a while to shake it - sorry - I digress - red wine - it is vital for our well being that we remember to chill. enjoy wikis - whatever works for you.

Today it was a luvly sunny day here in NI! .. Started to paint the garden fence which has been annoying me for 2 years. House only half mine but limbo state getting boring. So went ahead.

Then the olympic torch procession passed my street.... Luvly atmosphere..... The crowds perked me up wot a turn out in a small tow:n......

Back to that fence..... It could take weeks to paint. I lie down on sun lounger close my eyes.. Bliss........ . Oops..... next door neighbour decides to remove spouting from his roof... Lots of hammering and commotion...

Get off sunlounger to answer door bell... Crowd of children including mine looking for a lift to football pitch.... Put on the cardy over sundress.. Drop off the kids as requested lol..

Return home.... Sun still shining how luvly .. Beautiful day.... Do I continue with fence or lie down in the sun "hard decision ".
;)

Dog has to be walked, uniform washed, court preparation for nxt week etc etc. Wtf I''m chillin today...I''m allowed and so are you! Distractions and all today were welcome.. Chillin is gd,,, xx
