I often read about the length of marriage being a factor with settlements etc. I'm just wondering how long 10 years is deemed to be. With only a few months relationship prior to marriage.

Is 10 years considered as a long time in this day and age or medium or short? Curious.

Robert...
I think anything from 10 years onwards is classed as a 'long marriage'....
I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read that somewhere, probably on this site...

The average length of marriage in the UK is now 11 years. There are no short marriage rules and anything from 3 to 10 years can be deemed short.

Sorry, I'm rushing to go out and didn't make that clear. A marriage less than three years is considered short. Anything above that might not be considered short and definitely over 10 years it wouldn't be considered short.
