What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Just a bit of a rant really! I know there's a load of people with bigger issues but she drives me potty!

Still living in same house with x2b and kids so its difficult - waiting for house purchase to go through.

Tonight I get a grilling because I say 'its your will' when she's talking about making a will and specifying who she wants to look after the kids in the event of us both dying!!! I say 'its your will', she says 'you've never supported me in 10 years of marriage'. She wants me to go to sols to sign on future so kids in the event of us both being independently dead. I say 'write what you want in your will - judge will decide' - tears followed - she's on a different planet! 6 months ago she was talking about a completely different set of people!

2 days ago (top gear was on at the time) she starts to talk about where I should live after I sell the house. I say I'm staying nearby (so I'll have a base near the kids) - she says I should live 25 miles away (where I'm from) because my friends are there. I say 'its nothing to do with you' she says its everything to do with her. She storms of when I say I'm watching top gear. more tears

Christamas day tomorrow - finger crossed no more arguments
