What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

My first post-split Christmas Day. Very odd. All alone, very quiet. No children.

Not as bad as I feared.

Here's to 2008 - As D'ream tell us - 'Things can only get better'

Best wishes to all fellow wikimates - All the best.

Not a bad day though not as quiet as I thought it would be.

1. Mum rang first thing (7am) reminding me to come over later.

2. Kids rang (8am) to say thanks for presents.

3. Ex rang (9am) to remind me to take kids out boxing day and have I sent the monthly cheque.

4. Uncle rang (10am) from Germany to say merry xmas and that he was having a hernia operation soon.

5. Dad rang (11am) to say that Mum had forgotten the potatoes and would chips be alright with the turkey instead.

6. Kids rang again (12pm) to say have I got the receipts as they want different games for Xbox and Ninetendo whatyoume call it.

7. Friend rang (1pm) to say he and his girlfriend want me to come over this evening for dinner.

I thought it would quiet and peaceful on my own today!! Finally pulled the bloody phone out of the socket and went back to bed!! Humbug!!
