HI all, I thought I would try a post of this as it might interest some, even if you intend not to kayak.
I am planning a trip to St Davids, camping in June mon 11th to fri 15th.
The Camp site is Lleithyr Meadow.
This is a fantastic part of the world, an unspoilt sea side resort without a coin machine in existence. Its a surfing community.
The coast is fantastic with the pembrokshire way passing through.
St Davids head and the cathedral are two things worth travelling for.
My original plan is to go sea kayaking, there are various places to explore and easy and difficult sea.
If you have no plans for this year why not try it.
The camp site is only about £8 per person and is sheltered with facilities. It is about 10mins walk from whitesands bay, a fantastic blue flag beach.
Any one interested drop me a line. I have a spare boat and paddle.
If you search the net for info you will be met with endless sites showing the richness of the area and if you dont want to get wet, there are more things to do then you have fingers.
Its a bit of a treck, but worth it, about 280 miles fom nottingham.
Just wanted you to know, anyone who might have been interested, this last week was a complete success.
The weather was perfect mon through wed. did come home thurs, but thats just how it is at present with the weather...crazy.
Its been a few years now for me, but doing a trip like this can help anyone, I beleive.
Especially if your doing something like the kayaking or walking etc, coasteering too if your completely mad.
There is little capacity to contiue to be consumed by your situation when you take the time for something like that, even the shear beauty of the place lets you know stuff goes on whatever.
I always said in the early part of my divorce when I was waking up to the world, the tide still goes in and out, whatever happens.
I hope to do this trip again and anyone who might have been slightly interested, go for it. It was brill.
Derwent water first week in sept?
survive, we did do a camping weekend last year, three tents and a few people came to visit sat night, a great weekend and over so fast we were near dovedale and the kids had a ball, mine still talk about it now.
There is potential for a weekend in july, if your interested.
Camping with my children if the weather ever lasts nice enough for long enough is one of those things i must do if only i can pluck up the courage and kick my rear into gear. And kayaking would be great.
