I would like to thank everyone who supported me in yesterdays challenge with both well wishes & sponsorship.

Unfortunately I drove 81 miles in heavy rain to find out that due to the adverse weather that the event had been reluctantly cancelled as the conditions of the roads were unsafe.

I am however now planning to ride in the charity''s next planned event on the 15th July in Essex & Herts, so time for a bit more training B)

Well think I am a tad jinxed with trying to support this Charity :(

The day started of brilliantly the weather was perfect for cycling blue skies & sunshine & just the right amount of breeze to keep cool.

I was so ejoying the ride through the beautiful countryside.

I reached my first check point & registered in & off I set again, at approx 24 miles into the ride disaster struck & I am now nursing a a broken humorous head (which is nowhere near as funny as the name suggests):S

Very dissapointed in myself as I won''t be able to ride next weeks London to Cambridge either :(

Oh! well glass half full still here to tell the tale & it could have been so much worse :)

It''s at times like this that you discover what lovely suppotive people you know :)

Certainly does seem that this ride has been jinxed for you,but please don,t let that dissuade you with this charity,as they are one of the ones that really struggle with funds :(and in today''s health climate it''s something that we all should think about:unsure:
Really sorry that you have sustained an injury and no it really is not as the name suggest:( but I hope that you will soon feel more comfortable, and yes you are still here ,thankfully:)
So take care of yourself,no more hurtling yourself about until you are really fit again:laugh:

Take care
luv and hugs
Leas xx.......................

Thank you to both of you :)

A few grazes & definitely ouch!!!!

Jinxed or not Afonleas I will still attempt to participate in next years ride. You just never know what the future holds for any of us & whether one day we would need their support.

On the bright side I did get the distiction of the most serious injury of the day

Hope you are feeling beeter.

If you are looking for another challenge once recovered try the Chiltern 100 or the Dunwich Dynamo.

I did the Dunwich for the first time this year,it was 112 miles from Hackney to Dunwich, ridden over night.

It was a nice sense of achievement finishing that one I can tell you!:)

Thank you retep69 :)

Greatly improved thank you but still mending & being told I am not ready to start riding again yet.

However confession time the temptation to go out got the better of me today & I went out for a ride :blush:only about 7-8 miles but it felt fantastic to be back doing what I enjoy.

It has been a very frustrating Summer not being able to get involved when there as been so much going on that has been encouraging in the sport.

I have heard of the ride that you mentioned a friend of mine was considering doing that last year.

Have made a note to self to read properly what rides I sign up for though as I have just signed up for a 100 mile road race in error :woohoo:which is a bit beyond my skills lol
