Yes, thank you rubytuesday and hadenoughnow. We will get there eventually.
Maybe I will have a go at arranging one in London after all - 20th Aug is still the best date for me. Jalisia, you could still have one in Bristol In sept??

HI BG11, i'm a bit tied up at weekedns over the next few months...too many grand children having birthdays, a weekend away would be a lot cheaper hahaha :laugh:only jokin.

Because i'm away all week it's the only time i get to see them. Anywhere is fine for me, just dates :angry:a nuisance at the moment,

Keep me updated though please, you never know, i might be able to arrange something short notice.

Have fun Guy's & Gal's, hope to meet you all soon best wishes.

If anyone would like to organise a meet-up and would some help with setting it up, I'm happy to do so. I think, from this thread, people ahve indicated they would be interested in meet-ups in Bristol, London and Portsmouth or Southampton (actually, I think I was the only one who suggested Portsmouth/Southampton so will be sat on my own like Belinda No-Mates :s).

Usually, it's best to keep things low-key - a coffee and cake in the afternoon, or a drink and a meal in the evening. I would suggest that if anyone wants to start sorting something out for thier local area, they post a forum post first; using a heading such as \"London Meet-Up in August? makes it clear and easy for others to find. Make sure there is plenty of time for people to become aware of the event, and to make the necessary arrangements; there's no point in trying to set something up that's in just a couple of days time. When posting threads about a proposed event, it's better to not post full details of the event (ie location, time etc) in the actual thread but instead put those details in the events listing which can only be accessed by registered members.

Wiki meets are for many the first step to socialising again. It’s a good opportunity to spend time with people who understand how you’re feeling without you having to explain why.

If you are unsure about coming along, read what other members have posted in the past about going to a wiki-meet -

\"For anyone who's coming for the first time .......... you will be made so welcome so please don't be nervous - just think of it as meeting some new friends because that is what you will leave the day with\"

\"it''s a great first step to come out of your comfort zone and socialise but with a safety net. Everyone understands, everyone. Sometimes, we''re so busy laughing that we forget what brought us together in the first place\"

\" It''s fun and just a few hours away from the four walls, chatting and laughing\"

\"If any new wikis are undecided about the next wikimeet my advice is to take the plunge and just go for it!! It''s s little therapy session with great company.\"

\"nice to have something other than solicitor''s deadlines on my calendar\"

\"If you''ve never been to a wikimeet before be assured that everyone is very friendly and we don''t sit and talk about divorce all the time!\"

\"For any New Wiki''s or those who haven''t been to a meet before as I hadn''t I can recommend it.
It was a lovely day with lovely people and conversation.\"

\" I was a bit nervous at going to my first Wiki meet but everyone was lovely and it felt really comfortable being with others in the same boat.\"

\"I had a fantastic time yesterday, I'm so glad I came along. It was amazing to meet so many people who understood how I felt, who didn't judge me and just accepted me for who I am.\"

\"you can't miss a group of wikis in the pub, they are the ones taking up the most space, drinking the most and smiling the most.\"

\"a group of young lovelies on a hen party asked us what our party was because we seemed to be having more fun than them....when we told them we were a divorce group, they refused to believe... \"

So.....anyone interested?

Thanks Belinda,
(oops... I mean Ruby Tuesday )

There is a Wiki Meet \"work in progress\" as we speak.B)

Jalisia and I have decided to have a bash at organising it together.

Thanks for all the tips. (especially about not posting all the details here, we wouldn't want a load of random non Wiki's turning up:blink: )

:)BG11 :)
