Yes, there is, but there hasn't been one for some time. Perhaps now is a good time before winter weather makes travel difficult. In the past people have come from quite far and need to book train tickets etc in advance to take advantage of cheaper fares. There is so much to see in Liverpool making it an ideal venue.
For anyone who has never been to a wikimeet before, I can tell you that it helps a lot to spend time with people who are non-judgemental and understand exactly how you're feeling without you having to explain. Yes, we do talk about divorce, but it's not all about that and there's lots of laughter too.
What usually happens is a lunchtime meeting to chat and get to know each other, then we tend to split up and explore the city/go shopping, meeting up again for drinks and dinner in the evening.
Under60, yes there are wikimeets in the south, but the person who arranged the last one is temporarily taking a break from wiki. You can of course arrange one yourself by posting on the Forum to test interest and take it from there. If you decide to go ahead you then post it in Events and see what the take up is.
A few of us were thinking of a meet before Christmas!
We hadn't thought about location yet - our past two were in London and we fancied a change - even considered making a bit of a weekend of it.
I'd be happy to coordinate traveling up from London if you want to organise something.
Obviously, dates might be an issue as I will need childcare.
But an early heads-up would be good!
It'll be nice to have something to look forward to.
