I adore reading, books are my salvation!

I love Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwall, Karin Slaughter, P J Tracy, Lisa Gardner, Barbara Erskine, etc., etc.

Just finished 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas', very good, would recommend.

Looking forward to people's recommendations.

If you want a really really good read try

Jean M Auel

Clan of the Cave Bear
The Mammoth Hunters
Valley of the Horses
and Shelters of Stone

They are the most amazing books, they carry a story all the way through in such a fantastic way of a cromagnon little girl being brought up by a clan of neathanderals. Have a look on google and get an idea of what they are about.
I just could not put these down. The story is magical and so beautifully written. Took ages for me to stop thinking about them, actually, might get them out and read them again.

Really recommend them.

Thanks Zara, will definately be scouring Amazon for them, they sound great.

Just started Blinded by Stephen White, promises to be a good 'un.

Am reading a Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini - it is about a generation of women in Afghanistan and their struggles through life (puts some of my own problems into perspective I can tell you!). He also wrote the Kite Runner which has to be one of the best books I have ever read.

I used to read books , read newspapers and watch TV before my breakup. Since then none of those interest me.
I saw the ultimate irony the other day. For £189 you can buy an electronic book..same size and shape as a book. It held several books and opened like a book only the pages were on a small LCD screen. Seems you could get a lot of books for £189 even if is environmentally friendly !!!

Hi Linda

I bought 'Thousand Splendid Suns' for my friend's birthday, can't wait to read it, the story sounded really interesting and the relationahip between the two women sounded fascinating.

I can assure you that you will love it - if you haven't read it get the Kite Runner too - it was his first novel and is just amazing. Another great read is The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards. (Another Richard & Judy Book Club Fan!!)
