What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi Bluebird,

I know exactly where you''re coming from - it''s only a few days since the supposed love of my life ended us by text and to be honest I feel like I''d rather die. But I won''t - nobody''s worth this. That they have treated us in such a fashion is a measure of their worth, not ours.

John.

Hi Bluebird
One thing is for sure you are not alone. I was married for 1 year until 4 weeks ago when I came home to find all her belongings gone.
Devastated is an understatement, I am really struggling but I have read on here of the many other people that are going through the same emotions and I take strength from the messages of support.
I am assured it will get easier as time goes on and I am a firm believer in that things happen for a reason.
Stay strong and all the support you need is on here from some amazing people offering wise words of direction to help you through this.
