What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Yep. Being alone and coping with the running of the car/maintenance of the house/looking after family full-time is scary but I''ve amazed myself as to how far I have come from D day and what I can do when the chips are down.
One of my proudest moments was replacing the belt on my hoover- yes I know it isn''t rocket science but I did it!:)
The car maintenance is trickier but I have found that if you ask people nicely they are usually willing to help.
My life was shattered when he left me so publicly in a small community but I''m really glad that I held my head high and carried on living in the same area. To leave then (as he did, scuttling away to a new location) would''ve made me as cowardly as them.
I am respected in my own right now and ready to move to a new area because I want to, not because I feel ashamed.
And at the end of the day, as others have already said on here, I have most of my family (and luckily his too!)
No-one knows the script, we just have to act out the role we''ve been given to the best of our ability.;)
