What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Thanks Shoegirl, Marshy, Scareyclairie and all the lovely people who have tried to help me over the last year but I apparently can no longer express myself in a fitting manner so I am taking a break.
Love to all, hope you all survive one day I will let you know if I did

wmorris2, don''t do it. A sip or 5 is OK but that''s it. Forget the pills. Life seems sh!te sometimes, I''ve been there too (I''ll admit to one bottle in trying to make it go away) Really it does get better. That''s why we are here; looking for a way forward. It isn''t always obvious but its there. PM me if you need to. talk to some body else. Make sure you wake up in the morning. It will be better than the day before.

Wikivorce is an informal community - we are not trained counsellors and don''t have the medical or counselling expertise to properly support you.

Please call the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90

''A trained Samaritans volunteer will answer and give you the chance to talk about what’s happening in your life and how that is affecting you. Samaritans volunteers are trained in many of the same techniques as professional counsellors, but they won’t judge you or tell you what to do.

By listening and asking questions, the volunteer will help you explore your feelings and work out the way forward. The volunteer will often ask if you are feeling suicidal. This doesn’t mean that you must be suicidal to contact us but we always ask because it can be a huge relief for someone to admit how bad they are really feeling.

You can talk to Samaritans for as long as you want and you needn’t tell us your name or any personal details at all if you don’t want to.

This web page from their site lists many other specialist support organisations that can help you.''
