Having lost my wife, step daughters and labradors in the last year I have made the bold investment in a large Peace Lilly, spotted at Sainsburys looking a bit forlorn for itself being that it was in the reduced section (half price at only £2.50!).

My new flatmate has now got a nice pot and is on the kitchen table and will get the care and attention for us to have a long relationship together.

A sad indication of our throw away society though is the sticker on the pot that suggests throwing the fella away once he has stopped flowering! I think not....

The plant is a gorgeous thing.
Believe me do not throw it away..

It can take a fair bit of neglect....

as the flowers die off, trace them back along the stem & cut it off.

If you look v. carefully into the plant you will see that there are new buds there.

Do not over water it...
Wait til surface seems really dry.
Pick it up & feel the weight of it...

Next, what you need to do is the bubble test...
Sounds crazy I know BUT....

Fill a container full of water.
Holding your plant down, still in pot, submerge it.
Its an amazing sight, coz bubbles will immediately start.Keep the plant, compost level only submerged til there are no more bubbles..

Take plant out of water, leave pot to completely drain of water.

I think you will find the weight of the pot has inc. substantially...

for the plant that is !!!!!

This is the first bit of normality in my life...

No seriously.
Lack of human contact is killing me....

Up all night...

Saw the "Delightful One"at 06.30hrs this morning briefly...

Hey, I think I must be quite a valuable commodity in todays world COZ

I''m made of glass..
Invisible to people...

house has not been cleaned & dusted....

OBVIOUSLY not been to the shops coz cupboards/fridge EMPTY........ OPEN BLOODY EYES & LOOK....

Meal not on table....
Even worse, meal not up to scratch, so in the bin it goes....
Oh no..
Got them well trained on that one....

into the Recycling Bin.....

Waffling I know..
Son never a v. chatty one any way.Especially when he has done a Night Shift..
if he''s just woken up....

Bet you wish you never Posted now about such a sweet little innocent thing as a plant.....

Only joking...

Would just like to reiterate those words,it is such a beautiful plant, and one lives quite happily on my kitchen window sill,I look at it numerous times a day,but not always do I acknowledge it''s name, but mine was bought for me just after my journey started,it''s still blossoming and standing tall and proud, now I can say that I''m now also standing tall and proud, and then I remember the wonderful name that this plant holds.

QPR Look after this new addition, cherish it and enjoy it.

Luv and cwtchs
