I think many of us will, samz.

As I see it, there are ways of seeing the situation in which we find ourselves. I put my situation in these terms...

A challenge: to be faced with the intention of winning. It''s worth doing well.

A war of attrition: strip away the cloak of legality, look past what the solicitors say. Your STBX is trying to grind you down. What gives them that right?
You''ll probably feel just like me - it''s grinding you down. But my STBX will never know this and if I hint at it''s happening, I''d be empowering her.
Remember that your STBX is in exactly the same boat. You needn''t call the bluffs, just be aware of their existence.

Fair vs. unfair: ''Fair'' is a watchword of mine. The more fair I am, the less fair the STBX''s demands will seem.

We''ve all been told time and again that the only winners in the divorce scenario are the legal folk. For my part, I feel that sound advice is worth serious consideration, and appropriate action. That said, I always look behind advice to ensure that the motivations behind it aren''t flawed. Time taken to carefully consider the next move is time well spent.

Musings of this nature may help - they may not. However, overall, I think it makes sense to realise this is a life event, not the end of life as we know it. Try to keep it in perspective.
