help with ub wording was created by KATE42
Hi

I have found a wealth on information on this site and have written the reasons for divorce, I''m divorcing on ub grounds. Have I got the right idea - I would hate to submit the papers for them to be rejected. This is what I have got so far ...

The petitioner and respondent have not lived together since March 2012.

The respondent has behaved in such a way that the petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to live with the respondent.

The respondent husband prefers the company of others excluding the petitioner from his social life and leaving the petitioner feeling isolated.

By spending less time together there had been a lack of communication, which caused the breakdown of the marriage.

Throughout the marriage the respondent husband has shown a lack of financial support towards the family home.

The respondent husband has shown a lack of support in maintaining a household. The petitioner attempted to maintain the household with little support.

The respondent husband voiced repeated criticism of the petitioner leading to a feeling of never being able to do anything right and a lack of self-esteem

The respondent has behaved in such a way that the petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to live with the respondent.

The said marriage has broken down irretrievably.

Any suggestions etc would be great.

It ok if a bit weak, can you add anything, do he say you have a fat bum, can`t cook? ect.

Don`t add this twice "The respondent has behaved in such a way that the petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to live with the respondent."

I have now reworded and added details - is this what they courts will be expecting?

The petitioner and respondent have not lived together since March 2012.

The respondent husband prefers the company of others excluding the petitioner from his social life. The respondent husband would refuse to socialise with the petitioner which left the petitioner feeling isolated. By spending less time together there had been a lack of communication, which caused the breakdown of the marriage.

Throughout the marriage the respondent husband has shown a lack of financial support towards the family home. The respondent husband only contributed a small weekly payment that amounted to less than half of the family outgoings in spite of the respondent being the higher earner. This left the petitioner feeling stressed about finances.

The respondent husband has shown a lack of support in maintaining a household. Daily chores and general maintenance were left to the petitioner who attempted to maintain the household with little support.

The respondent husband voiced repeated criticism of the petitioner about physical appearance, weight and age, and mental state. This was often done in front of family and friends leading the petitioner to a feeling of never being able to do anything right and a lack of self-esteem.

Most recently, August 2012, the respondent husband was verbally abusive, name-calling and personal insults, to the petitioner in the workplace. This caused immense embarrassment to the petitioner professionally.

The respondent has behaved in such a way that the petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to live with the respondent. The said marriage has broken down irretrievably.

many thanks for any help

Very good, all you need to change is " throughout the marriage" to recently, then it''s fine.

Kate: let me pass on some advice I got from here - you may find it hard to fit your Particulars in the small space on the d8, so you may need to do a continuation page... If so, put ''please see attached'' and your initials... you also should double-line space the continuation page. Hope this helps on a practical basis! Good luck!
