What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Stick with it and push for that Consent Order as said earlier.

I agree with Dukey''s comments too - court''s seem to be going a bit bonker''s these days.

Also it could well be like earlier poster said it goes something on the lines of reaching targets as is with schools!

All the best and good luck with that consent order.

There does seem to be a total lack of consistency, some courts dealing with the applications in reasonable time and others just dont care, you call them and they say it takes as long as it takes.

One wiki is still waiting for the Absolute after three months.
