What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need legal advice on a fair financial settlement?

We offer a consultation with experienced family solicitor for a low fixed fee. You will receive legal advice and a written report outlining your legal position and setting out what a fair settlement would look like based on your individual circumstances.

Hi wiki''s,

I''m just completing a form. I am now divorced, does that make me a Ms or a Mrs still?

Thanks

My Mum has been divorced for over 30 years and she''s still a Mrs!
Personally, when I finally get it sorted I will stay a Mrs because I loathe the term Ms and Miss at 54 sounds a bit sad :(

Survive I thought the same as you. On the one hand I don''t want to be reminded of ex every time I sign my name, but on the other hand I don''t want to revert to my Maiden Name, plus if I keep ex''s name it will really p..s off OW!!!!

I don''t like the term Ms myself (not div yet). But if you''re no longer married Mrs seems inappropriate. R u keeping your married name or reverting to maiden?

I wish to change to maiden... although that means different from children,, I will suit them probably, although one wld like to change name also.

Do what you think appropriate Ms or if you hv more superior title Dr Prof etc. Lol
