What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi,I''m getting a divorce and need to fill out a "Chronology". I''ve called the helpline on here and they were very helpful and said if I posted a Question on here someone would be able to send me one.
Thanks Shane.

A chronology is simply a list of all the relevant dates:

Start of cohabitation
Birth of children
divorce application
Decree Nisi
Ancillary relief application
form E exchange

The date of birth of the parties and children
The date of cohabitation if you argue seemless cohab to marriage
The date of marriage
The date of separation
The date of the petition
The date of the Nisi if decreed
The date of the Forms E
The date of the FDA

Add other dates for hearings if they happen,

When I received my STBX i noticed they changed the order of these- still keeping the dates right, but on first appearance it would look like

bought house

When really it was
tried leaving

Im sure it was to paint the "perfect marriage" picture my STBX is trying to portray as why else would you not list them CHRONOLOGICAL

The lengths some people will go to to make sure they look like the saint and have never done anything wrong.

My partners ex is terrified that her mother will discover that she was the one who had the affair.

She went ape when my partner said he would divorce her because she was pertified he would make some mention of the affair even if it was UB!! She even tried to blackmail him using the children as weapons!!

In our texting today she accused me of rewriting our history?

Funnily she had a hard time arguing the fact she was pregnant 3 months into our relationship (and i use this term loosely) after telling me she couldnt get pregnant.

Stupid me. But we are where we are... and still I have NO regrets about leaving.
