What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My dad mentioned this to me earlier and when i said i was already reading over Wikivorce he just went ''Thats the site!''( he forgot the web address!) so i must be doing something right!!

Just wish i could get what is looking like my STBX to see the same sense as scaryclaire and others have said. Little bumps and big bumps happen in any journey, but if you ride them out you''ll only be stronger for knowing each other better when you get further down the road.

If anything think of your kids if they are involved as once a child or children come along, the relationship is not just about 2 people anymore, its about ALL of you and the affects i have seen from friends whos parents divorced years ago was something i want to avoid at all costs for my children :(

Yes sometimes it cant be avoided but if you can, TRY and work at your relationship!

PS Thanks to Ian and the others on the program as I cant imagine it would have been easy for you Ian :)

PPS have you been talking to my STBX Mrs per chance ;)
