What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, hopefully I have put this in the right place. I am in the process of filling in the divorce petition and would like some guidance about the Statement of Case. Please can I have some feedback on this

"The respondent and I separated in November 2009. The respondent left the matrimonial home at that time and did not return. The separation came about due to continuous arguments over money. Both parties consent to a divorce based on two years separation"

Is this sufficient? Do I need to add anything else?

Thanks in advance

You don''t need the reasons for the separation, I would leave that sentence out. Apart from that, all fine.
