What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi - can anyone help me with some wording?

I am trying to word a statement of issues and my questionare - first court date early July.

I suspose what I want is the house transferred to me, and other wise a Clean Break - no spousal maintenent - he has nothing, isn''t working, is "unwell". I have received no child support for nearly 2 years and again I can''t see me ever getting any so I''m not asking for any. Just really want to be left alone to bring up the kids in a secure home within my limited funds.

Re the questionare - I have not received any bank or credit card statements - so apart from a slip of paper saying he spent a few hundered in 7 days leaving the balance at £0 I don''t have anything to ask about those as I don''t have them.

Do I put that I would ask questions should i ever get them? Do I ask on what did you spend the cash I do know about?

I just feel I have very little to say and that can''t be good?!

Any advice?
thanks

I can''t find those posts :-(

Does any one else have any advice for me? I have tried to put some bit''s into simple sentences.... is the statement of issues susposed to show a general picure of the situation leading to what you want to happen?

although I''m not asking for any financial support should I put in that IF his circumstances significantly change i would in the future?

I have also put down four questions - largely saying when I get the missing documents I reserve the right to ask questions about them.

thanks.
