What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Just seen an announcement that an agreement has been made between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Well done. Lessons can be learnt from this. I thought it was going to be another long dragged out case like Mills vs McCartney.

However if they had really loved each other as much as they proclaimed in the media, I beleive that the "Scientology" aspect of this marriage could have been dropped....by either party. Just goes to show what a strong hold this religion has on individuals.

Maybe I should offer myself to marriage for a non-returnable fee?????

But Nah, the price of my freedom is far far greater than the price of greed!

Interested in your thoughts and hope you are finding a better place to be.

Scientology is not a religion, it is a cult.

You cant be sure that the cult to which they belonged was featured anywhere. This is the press reporting this and the cult could be just headline grabbing and padding. Newspapers do this sort of thing all the time.

Another celeb divorce. How many for Tom now? Problem for them is that their work schedules are so fierce, that I bet they dont see a lot of each other. And perhaps they just grow apart. Who knows. Only they do. And I doubt that we will ever know. Its their business and not ours... C.

Well, I must say that its always horrible news to hear of any couple splitting, Even Tom and Katie.
Thank goodness they resolved their issues quickly to avoid more harmful tabloid nonsense.
I''ve heard so much about Tom and Katie and even how she auditioned for the part of being Mrs Tom Cruise. Go figure..
Suppose fame has its plus and minuses.
