What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Im just looking at divorcing my wife of 18 Years after she committed adultery. We''ve been seperated for 12 months. Anybody know if she''s entitled to half my super annuation pension, which I was already claiming before we met?

You cannot look and pensions alone but need to consider them alongside all financials.

If you post more details someone will hopefully be able to help more.

Length of marriage including cohabitation
Your ages
Children and their ages
Assets including property equity, shares and savings
Respective Incomes including benefits
respective pensions and their values.
