Well, this may sound a little silly, but if it helps even one person, then its worth posting.
I have been struggling with viewing the whole divorce thing as one massive task.
It sounds simple but I have decided to break it down into smaller bite size pieces, this will help me keep sane and hopefully a lot more positive (I can tick boxes every now and then as opposed to waiting a long time to tick one single box).
Anyway, here it is
2.Petition accepted by court
3.Petition signed by stbx
6.agree on finances
9.move into rented house
10.apply for mortgage
11.buy own house
12.live happily ever after
I now appreciate that even at times when this feels as though it will last forever i am getting there as just managed to put a tick in box next to no.2 (petition approved).
Thanks for correction, but actually meant put house up for sale.
Although we have both agreed that if we sell the house before coming to a financial agreement we are both happy for solicitor to hold money until such time.
I see getting a buyer as probably the biggest hurdle (not because most difficult but because have no control over it), so defintely not going to turn a buyer away just because i havent agreed on finances.
