What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

I understand that a divorce can be granted after five years seperation with no consent from the other party required. Do financial disagreements need to be resolved before this would be granted?

This has just been answered on your previous post ;)

its 2 years in Scotland - and only if there are no outstanding issues relating to financials and/or children under the age of 16. Otherwise, if there are, a divorce will not be granted until those issues have been resolved.

I don''t know where you get 5 years from. In Scotland it is now two years separation to divorce without consent.
