What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hardship? can I claim maintanance immediately

I have been with the CAB many years ( don''t do it these days ) and if they cannot help you, nobody can. It will not cost you and I would certainly try it.

Thats true and I will defo only work with CAB in future. CAB helped me in Dec2011 with appeal forms and DLA was awarded.

Have been reading info on divorce and so many forms to be done. He will not be able to answer all the questions as the Petioner on extra support forms has to be included. Feel sorry for his solicitor, hahahaha.

I do feel much stronger with all this info on site, and prepared. Thanx so much
