What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I was informed by my solicitor that the Decree Nisi was ready. I signed the form Etc. and sent it back. I have since been informed that the Court will now not issue the Decree Nisi as we are ''still living together''.

This is because my STBX will not move out!!!
I have tried to reason with him etc. but as he doesn''t want the divorce, he continues to be awkward.

Therefore impossible to move on and we''ve been like this for 8 months now. :(

Phoebe, do you mind my asking what your grounds were ? And in particular, did they include adultery ?

Unreasonable behaviour - husband texting a work colleague, lied, stayed out for two nights in a hotel alone he said (later discovered this was a lie as I checked bank records and phoned the hotel) he then said he stayed in his car for two nights.

Can''t prove a physical relationship - an emotional one definitely, plus lies etc.

That''s it!!
