What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

In the same situation, divorced 7 years but still they are going after me. two weeks ago, no with held but OW''s voice, "We will destroy you", says it all about their happy life!

my ex!!!

Even the solicitor has now said it is not about money anymore. he said it''s about control and keeping in contact. he just cannot let go..despite having a partner!!

this could be a funny thread.

Ooh I like this one! Apparently it''s me who is the control freak, stbx has ignored our dd wishes & feelings, spent a fortune on contact which went her way ( as it should!)
Fh judgement last week, his barrister has written to HHj saying he''s got it all wrong and I should be left on the breadline, or words to that effect:laugh:
So far this farce has lasted 16 months, looks like it will go on, I do know I am so much happier not having to say how high when he says jump!
