What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Evening all! Bends knees a la Dixon of Dock Green, those of you old enought to remember that!

OK - quick question. Statement of Truth -still known as an affidavit! On the HM website, all I could find was General Affidavit N285 - but last updated 1999! Thought the law had changed post-April 2010? Also there are no guidance notes! Boo hoo! Hmmm, unless I am looking at the ''wrong thing!'' LOL! Any clues/help, anyone? Maybe one for Dukey? ( found that sock yet?)

Dear lady, please don''t mention the sock, it was a low point.

The D80 was known as an affidavit untill I think April 2011 the month maybe wrong though, anyway after the great and the good changed the elderly rules it was the same form new name, statement of truth, but it does not require swearing in court after the little addendum they added.

Just look for form D80, there are five depending on the factor of divorce, lettered abcde, mention the sock again and I will have little chioce but to send the wiki hit man after you, a fearful creature with a heart if ice and a steely determination matched only by his desire to succeed, his name is never spoken of, but it begins with m and ends in e, beware this name.

Thank you very much, Dukey for this. To any other LIP wikis on here, in layman''s language, this is a general format of an Affidavit.

Taken your opinions on board, Dukey: too late. I had the same conclusion. Thank you for your opinion: saves me time and emotional effort.... so thanks yet again!
