What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

is it enough for a clean break

hi all, my wife has offered me 40k for a Clean Break, equity in the house is 135k and we have 2 kids 15 and 10. were both in new relationships,no other real assets or savings bar a couple of thousand., cars similar value, i have left everything in the house and replaced some of it using 8k of an inheritence that my wife doesn''t want to claim anyway.i earn 43k she earns 38k, my pension is worth slightly more but she says she doesnt want to touch it as want no connection with me. were both wasting money on stupid sol letters, im paying 500 pcm maintenance plus 300 half of mortgage, i am inclined to accept it but thought i would ask your opinion as have no idea what a judge would award her if i pushed for more, am i right in thinking i would probably get around 30%, any advice appreciated, thanks

Its not really enough to go on but bar some startling fats it seems fine assuming the kids will live with mam most of the time.
