Hi there
I am plodding along with my divorce, FDR next month.

I've been married about 8 years, during cohabitation in 2007 I paid £11,000 into a house purchase (before marriage). The house was sold pre marriage and money eventually ended up in marital home through proceeds of sale.

Just wondered what my chances are of claiming that the £11k money was non matrimonial and getting it back?

If you marry after cohabiting then the entire period will be counted when considering length of marriage.

It’s unlikely that money that has been treated as part of the matrimonial pot for 14 years could be ring fenced now.
