What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

One Step Closer - Linkin Park

I cannot take this anymore
Saying everything I''ve said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear the less you''ll say
You''ll find that out anyway

Just like before...

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I''m about to break
I need a little room to breathe
Cause I''m one step closer to the edge
I''m about to break

I find the answers aren''t so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again

I''ve always like this song, but never really listened to what it actually said before.

It''s funny that, songs you have know for years when something like separation and divorce happen you actually "hear" what is being said in the lyrics and feel wow what a profound song - whoever wrote it must have known real heartache and pain.

Rise Like a Phoenix

Waking in the rubble
Walking over glass
Neighbors say we’re trouble
Well that time has passed

Peering from the mirror
No, that isn’t me
Stranger getting nearer
Who can this person be

You wouldnt know me at all today
From the fading light I fly

Rise like a phoenix
Out of the ashes
Seeking rather than vengeance
Retribution
You were warned
Once I''m transformed
Once I’m reborn
You know I will rise like a phoenix
But you''re my flame

Go about your business
Act as if you’re free
Noone could have witnessed
What you did to me

Cause you wouldn’t know me today
And you have got to see
To believe
From the fading light I fly

Rise like a phoenix
Out of the ashes
Seeking rather than vengeance
Retribution
You were warned
Once I''m transformed
Once I’m reborn

I rise up to the sky
You threw me down but
I''m gonna fly

And rise like a phoenix
Out of the ashes
Seeking rather than vengeance
Retribution
You were warned
Once I''m transformed
Once I’m reborn
You know I will rise like a phoenix
But you’re my flame

I''ve had this song buzzing about in my head today.

Audioslave - Show Me How To Live.

Any of you film buffs will have recognized the movie Vanishing Point, on which the video is based.

Thank you Stumpy,

I''ve just played the whole album,
instead of ripping into my overdue chores B)
I don''t think there''s a duff track on it.

1st song for today:

Never thought I would see Audioslave or Soundgarden on Wiki :)

Watching the Audioslave track bought back some happy memories, saw them live in Havana about 9 years ago, one of the most memorable shows I have seen.

Was staying in the hotel La National where the band were ensconced and spoke to Chris Cornell, managed to get photos unfortunately ''she'' is everyone. Think it is time to do some photoshoping.

Thanks for the memories guys, you bought me out of my hole for a while

Hi

Just listened to Audioslave - what a brilliant song - had heard of them but never really listened to them before.

Whilst on You Tube, thought of another anthem for us woman - (sorry will find one for you men just as soon as I can)

I''m Outta Love - Anatascia

Now baby come one
Don''t claim that love you never let me feel
I should have known
''Cause you brought nothing real
Come on be a man about it
You won''t die
I ain''t got no more tears to cry
And I can''t take this no more
You know I gotta let it go
And you know

I''m outta love
Set me free
And let me out this misery
Just show me the way to get my life again
''Cause you can''t handle me
(I said) I''m outta love
Can''t you see
Baby that you gotta set me free
I''m outta love

Said how many times
Have I tried to turn this love arond?
But every time
You just let me down
Come on be a man about it
You''ll survive
True that you can work it out all right
Tell me, yesterday
Did you know?
I''d be the one to let you go?
And you know

Let me get over you
The way you''ve gotten over me too, yeah
Seems like my time has come
And now I''m moving on
I''ll be stronger

Used to dance to this song in my clubbing days.

Still waiting for my new arrival and staus of Grandma, so mine would be:

But changed to...
My son came to me in the kitchen this evening while I was making tea and he handed me a piece of paper he''d been writing on. After wiping my hands I read it, and this is what it said:
For mowing the lawn: £5.00
For making my own bed this week: £2.00
Going to the shop for you: £2.00
Drying up for you: £2.00
Taking out the rubbish: £1.00
Getting a good report at school: £5.00
And for weeding the garden: £2.00
Total owed: £19.00

I looked at him standing there expectantly, and a thousand memories flashed through my mind. So I picked up the pen, and turning the paper over this is what I wrote:

For the nine months I carried you growing inside me: £0.00
For the nights I''ve sat up with you, cared for you: £0.00
Nights I prayed for you: £0.00
For washing and folding your clothes: £0.00
And wiping your nose: £0.00

When you add it all up, the full cost of my love is: £0.00

When he finished reading he had tears in his eyes and he looked up at me and said, "Mum, I do love you".

Then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote,

Paid in full

When you add it all up, the cost of real love is: NO CHARGE
