What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

In the 19 months since moving out of FMH after ex2b's affair I have only done 2 things I hadn't done before.

1. Treated my daughter for nits (long blond hair)- it took a few weeks with me doing it my week and her mother doing it her week but the little b*ggers finally went.

2. Taking the kids clothes shopping - my ex2b used to do that as it was always a pleasure for her - the only woman I know who went to Matalan and spent £270 in one trip!

Unlike divorcelawyer I always had to do DIY stuff around the house. But my proudest achievement was to unblock the downstairs loo, had to get the the manhole cover up (eventually - really heavy), at least it didn't cost me fortune to get someone out!!!!

Good topic yes ! I am still a novice everywhere but I am getting better !!! I always start to sing that Mama Cass song "getting better" everytime I struggle with the STUPID strimmer and lawnmower. I remember shortly after he left standing up in t hat garden sobbing my heart out and thinking 'how could he leave me when he knows how much work has to be done in the garden and house' and now ..... less than a year later, I'm getting better. It is a struggle, I still dont like it but I am getting there, and I will do it.

I took my Pink and Lilac Dyson up into my loft and hoovered away ALL the cobwebs inbetween ALL of the rafters.....

..... so that I could lay my new loft boards with my brand new new Black & Decker 18V Cordless Hammer Drill without getting nasty bits in my hair !!
