What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Since ex left 12 months ago I have:

Decorated spare bedroom and had new carpet fitted, I did measure the room myself and when the fitter came carpet was a few cms short but he managed to get it to fit bless him.

Changed the ink cartridge in the computer printer.

Put up a new smoke alarm in the hallway. Hopefully it will work ok if need be.

Put new window wipers on car.

Pruned every bush in the garden to within an inch of its life.

Put blinds up in conservatory.

I've found a really friendly electrician who has helped with a few electrical problems and not charged the earth.

Once the initial panic is over I realise there is a solution to most problems and that I can cope and I will cope. Poppie

Well I wasn't bad at DIY as we had built 2 houses, but what have I done since he left?

We always went to our sons house in London using the sat nav and got lost every time.
I did it with sign posts nobody shouting in my ear and got straight there............Easy.

Cesspit was blocked. Lifted the manhole and got it sorted. ......Yuk

Terrible noise in bedroom walls.....Mice..... OK got the pest people in but at least I didn't panic

Shower was leaking causing electrics to blow.... Sealed it and sorted it, no problem.

Nice to know I can do it.
