What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

The Wikivorce chatroom is a popular area of the site; our members support each other, and its also an opportunity to talk in "real time" to others who are also experiencing divorce and family break-down.

I would like to make clear that we have no plans at all to close, or suspend the chatroom; it remains a vital and important part of Wikivorce.

We do however, request that members using chat adhere to our ethos and Terms and Conditions, and if anyone has an issue they wish to report, they can either request a private chat with a moderator in chat (identified by the blue "M" badge next to their name in the room list) or send me a private message.

Many many people have benefited from using the chatroom over the years, and strong, real friendships have come out of chat interaction. Wikivorce is a supportive and caring community, and chat extends that support and care to members using the facility.

Its very much business as usual :)
