Been told through son (yet again) that stbx wants to get a bank loan for a new car. However not sure if I have story straight as obviously stbx cannot contact me because of OW rules but son says he wants to say he still pays towards mortgage as some sort of guarentee? He does but does not live at FMH so I would not want correspondence coming here as it would look as if he is and I don''t want to jeperdise my tax credits. Advice welcome please.

What does stbx actually want from you? Permission to say something on a loan application? Under no circumstances should you become any sort of co-signatory with him, or guarantor.

Thanks Jonathan. I have no idea what he wants we have no communication, I get the idea he wants to say he pays towards the mortgage but whether he would have to say he lived here I don''t know. I would never co sign anything and I am sure he is aware of that.

He wont even speak to you so how is he gona ask you to help with a loan? He is someone else''s problem now. Let the OW help him with the loan.

Sorry to be so bossy. But if you was in my shoes and I was asking it, you would be telling me that I had fell and bumped my head lol. C.

Thanks Marshy
No I won''t be helping him in anyway, I just wondered if he could state he was living in FMH even though he isn''t in order to secure a loan?

Julie, unless he tells your son you wouldnt know either way and if he does and gets found out he''s in a whole lot of trouble!! I imagine he would have to say he is living there in order to use it for a loan so the first sign of paperwork that turns up at your home, you ring the company (if its on the envelope) and tax credits and tell them whats going on.

Yes I thoguht the first I would know would be if paperwork arrived. I would probably just put it back in the post stating the addressee no longer lives here. I have done this before with post. I do not have a forwarding address for him as he will not give me one. I do know where OW lives but he says he doen''t live there (yeah right)!
