What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My eldest had an accident last evening and I had to drive him to the local A&E dept. On the way I managed to run into the rear of someone else. I have 12 years + no claims should I push everything through my insurance (excess 250) or should I find a way to pay without involving the insurance companies?

My car (Audi) has a dent in the bonnet. His Mazda has a pretty damaged boot and bumper.

Lots of policy`s have no claims protection so check yours if you do its just the excess to pay, tbh i`m not a big fan of making private arrangement''s loads can go wrong, plus how do you know the person/s you hit wont claim whip lash, and anyway car repairs are very expensive anyway, if it was a banger it will be written off, personally i have and always used the insurance company.
