Notification of visit

Just got a letter through the door from job centre it says in breif...

We need to see you to discuss a query that has arisen concerning your benifit.
A customer compliance officer will be calling to visit you.

I havent got any concerns - im single and looking for work.

For one of these visits to happen have i been run in by someone trying to get me into trouble??

Possibly - but often they have to run certain spot-checks on random claimants, and the way the letters are worded aren''t always great

possibly. it could also be routine - I think they review a certain amount of claims with a view to making sure you''re getting what you should be. Do you have nosey neighbours?! has your ex been around more than usual or have you had someone stay for a few days - brother, cousin? or even had some work done so there''s been a couple of builders around?

I think the only time you really need worry is if it''s an interview under caution. I have heard of home visits before so it''ll be nothing, I''m sure.

No my neighbours are elderly couples and are lovely.
My ex lives and hour and half away so no chance of him visiting.
Not had anyone stay and no builders.

My only thought is my ex and his wife are currently having a whoo ha with me over the children, and they know i volunter at school full time - I have to do 6 mths recent voluntry work to get on the agencys books to get work in a nursery or school( im a nursery nurse)

My exs wife isnt plesent so i could just be one of her nasty tricks.

Like i say i have nothing to worry about, i do worry over the sillyist things.

I definitely wouldnt worry. My old neighbour got done for benefit fraud because whilst her and her ex were patching things up he would occasionally stay over one or two nights a week. You used to be able to do this up to 3 nights a week but the rules changed. The first she heard there was a problem was when she was asked to attend an interview under caution. They wont give you a heads up if they think you are doing something wrong!!

It could be that your ex or his wife thinks you are working and not declaring it if you are volunteering and may have ''reported'' you and they just want to clear some things up. Have you declared to the job centre that you are volunteering?

Yes the job center are aware that im voulentering. my last work focused interview was in June and they were happy i was doing what i was doing in order to find work.
